    Post Re: Paris Hotel suggestions

Les Chansonniers is a unique, cheap and somewhat far-flung pick situated on the shared border of the 11th and 20th Arrondissements.
two of the hotel’s rooms are small and simple, lg a central hallway on the second and third floor of the building. These rooms, however, are really cheap, starting at €46 for singles or doubles with shared facilities. Rooms with a (rather tight) bathtub or shower start at a still-cheap €59. All rooms, even the simplest, are decorated in a nostalgic style, with “toile de jouy” wallpaper and furniture gleaned from flea markets and antique dealers. Given the compact layout of the floor, guests will be able to hear noise in the hallway and perhaps in other rooms and should bring earplugs.

    Hippodrome Montmartre
The two-star Hippodrome is located on a quiet street off the bustling Boulevard de Clichy, a short walk to Montmartre and Pigalle. It's a friendly, family-run place close to good transportation links and represents a solid value.

The hotel’s 22 rooms feel fresh and lively. Walls are painted a yellow or pink, and red dominates the bedspreads, curtains and carpets (a reminder, perhaps, of the proximity of Pigalle and its famous dance halls and cabarets). All rooms are well-equipped with a flat-screen TV, telephone, writing desk and framed prints. Private baths have recently undergone renovations leaving them feeling especially fresh, and all have hair dryers and showers.

Breakfast is served (for €6) in a room off the reception area which doubles as a lounge complete with television and bookshelves carrying guides, magazines and newspapers.

    Hotel Sejour Beaubourg
The Hotel de Sejour Beaubourg offers sunny and clean rooms with "budget boutique" décor for very reasonable rates directly north of the Centre Pompidou in the Marais. But it's not for everyone: The rooms are simple, don't have bathrooms, and there's no elevator.

The hotel's street-level lobby is a wide-open white room, with a few pieces of modern art and hip furniture. Up the impressive wooden staircase, rooms sport purple bedspreads, bold velvety curtains, and IKEA-designed hanging lamps. Rooms have wooden desks with leather-backed chairs and are (thankfully) equipped with double-paned windows for soundproofing.

The cheapest rooms are equipped with sink only, while more expensive rooms have private baths (toilet and shower)

    Mama Shelter
Calling all hipsters! The Mama Shelter, located one block east of Père Lachaise cemetery in the 19th arrondissement, offers 172 rooms with ultra-trendy design in an atmosphere that’s equal parts hotel, nightclub and fashionista den. For this Mama, eclectic design reigns supreme.

The Mama Shelter is a rather new addition to the Paris hotel scene. It opened in late 2008, a creation of hotel impresario Philippe Starcke. The hotel’s exterior is all very modern – seven floors that combine concrete and floor-to-ceiling windows at severe angles. It could easily be mistaken for a modern art museum somewhere in Scandinavia.

    I hope information is useful!

Hotel Brighton is a very nice hotel located near the gardens of the Tuileries and the Musee du Louvre. However the rue de Rivoli is a very busy road mobbed by tourists and that the hotel is the heart of deposit of Paris Vision. So come and go between the public and there is almost always a line of large tour buses with engines in a row. We prefer the bus metro and would be even greater if we had to travel to his son.
