President of Thai Travel Agents Association (TTAA), Charoen Vangananont, said that the leaders of the Association and the presidents of 25 tourism-related organizations will meet in Lumphini Park in downtown Bangkok, with their staff of about 1.000 companies of tour operators.

The representative of the TTAA said that the meeting was focused on the expression of the position of tour operators on the current political crisis, which hit hard the tourism industry, leading to a sharp decrease in the number of foreign tourists in the country.

The aim of the campaign - is to convince the government and the United Front of Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) to find the way out of the conflict and complete the protests as soon as possible.

President of the Hoteliers Association of Thailand, Prak Chinamurpong, said that during the Thai New Year festival of Songkran, hotels were filled by only 50% against the earlier projected 70 per cent mark of occupancy of hotels.
