My RBC rewards Gold Visa card states, "This insurance is effective when the full cost of your rental vehicle issued by a rental agency is paid with your RBC Rewards® Visa Gold card and/or RBC Rewards points. If only a partial payment is made using RBC Rewards points, the entire balance of that rental vehicle must be paid using your RBC Rewards Visa Gold card in order to be covered."http://www.rbcroyalbank.com/cards/rewards-cards/rewards-gold.htmlMy question is, what if I make the purchase through expedia and not the rental company? Will I still be covered by the CCs insurance? I am looking to rent a car for 8 days @ San Francisco International Airport, and on expedia, I am able to rent a Ford Fusion for $250 cdn. I checked on other rental websites, and I can't find a similar rate even with special codes. Does anyone have any experience with renting through expedia regarding insurance?
