Hotel to stay in LA (going to universal studios and Disneyland)

can anyone recommend a hotel(s) where to stay in California?. Family of 6, planning to spend 2 days in universal studios and 2 days in disneyland. we are booked to fly their by second week of october. any help will be appreciated
