Gas Stations in London UK

We just got back from a 1 week trip to London UK last month. We stayed at the Crowne Plaza in Kensington and Cromwell Rd. One thing we noticed that there were cars and busses everywhere but... we didn't see a single gas station anywhere which we found really strange. Anyone who has been to London, where the heck are the gas stations?
