Las Vegas - deals and things to see

So I booked a trip to Las Vegas thanks to the $300 discount from Expedia. Only going for 3 days and 2 nights (exactly 48 hours actually) due to scheduling. Booked Hooter because that's what suggested.I have never been there before. All I know is there are casino and shows to watch. What else can you do there? Is car rental a nice thing to have? Any "deal" like cheap restaurant?
