    Some free things to do:
    - Do the beaches (always free)

-museums have at least one free day per week

-You can always find a good band playing somewhere

-There is always one festival or another going on in Chicago, though they can sometimes be pricey.

-Tours are usually pretty cheap (except the food tours, but they are worth it... as are the beer tours).

-You can just walk the largest Metropolitan Park System in the US which is always free.

    -Visit McCormick Place.

-Chicago area has some of the best paintball fields in the US

-You can rent bicycles and ride the lake front (again, exercise). There are great bike paths along the entire shoreline.

-Or you can relax and take a carriage ride through the city.

And you can hire cars or public transportation works fine too.

The city is likewise famous for its exhibition halls, including the Art Institute of Chicago with its prominent Impressionist and Post-Impressionist works.
