    Euro Vs. Pound in London

I am planning a trip to London (first trip overseas) and I will be in London. I was wondering about this Euro verses Pound thing. I plan on doing some shopping and I planned on using cash. In London will I need euros or will I need Pounds? Can I use both? If so which is better? Thanks for any inforamtion.

I suggest you ask your local bank - well in advance! - Order in GBP some small bills, maybe 50 pounds or more, to take you at your arrival, instead of having to hunt ATMs in the airport of arrival and make the accounts more than what they offer. Or change the departure airport in the United States - you will lose one or two dollars at the exchange rate is not as favorable, but it's worth the convenience on arrival.

Londoners, in common with all other Brits, use the Pound exclusively.
The Euro was something that was foisted on us and we only use it when it is convenient. e.g. European holiday .

The correct way to donate the separation of hundreds and thousands is with a comma.( £1,000,000)
It is totally incorrect ( and ambiguous) to use a full stop (.) as a separator £1,000 is One Thousand Pounds. £1.000 would be read as One Pound with the extra zero discounted or ignored.
1.000.000 is not the same as 1,000,000.
