    Default Tanzania

Tanzania offers travellers an array of options, set against the backdrop of a cultural mosaic in which over 100 ethnic groups amicably rub shoulders. While most visitors head straight for the famed northern wildlife-watching circuit, followed by time relaxing on Zanzibar’s beaches, Tanzania has much more to offer anyone with the time and inclination to head off the beaten path. Follow the coastline south into a Swahili culture whose rhythms have remained in many ways unchanged over the centuries.

Tanzania is an East African nation known for its unlimited wild territories. They incorporate the fields of Serengeti National Park, a safari mecca populated by the "huge five" diversion (elephant, lion, panther, wild ox, rhino), and Kilimanjaro National Park, home to Africa's most astounding mountain. Seaward lie the tropical islands of Zanzibar, with Arabic impacts, and Mafia, with a marine stop home to whale sharks and coral reefs.

The name East Africa is today used to refer to Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. Of late however, East Africa has expanded to include Rwanda and Burundi. Thus, when talking of East Africa, you will be talking about the members of East African Community (EAC) who includes the 5 countries.

East Africa constitutes a Swahili culture with some inflects of United Kingdom (who were the colonial masters of the region). In fact, English is the official language in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania while Kiswahili is the national language. With over 80 percent of the 130 million residents being Bantus, you can expect a lot of Bantu culture in the countries.
