    Tajikistan is a newly-independent republic on the southern tip of Former Soviet Central Asia. Beautiful and remote, Tajikistan has much to offer to the mountaineer, the hiker and the independent traveller in search of remote locations and unusual cultural experiences.
    Tajikistan has experienced three changes in government and a five-year civil war since it gained independence from the USSR in 1991.A peace agreement among rival factions was signed in 1997 and implemented in 2000.

    Tajikistan is a nation in Central Asia encompassed by Afghanistan, China, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. It's known for tough mountains, prevalent for climbing and climbing. The Fann Mountains, close to the national capital Dushanbe, have snow-topped pinnacles that ascent more than 5,000 meters. The range includes the Iskanderkulsky Nature Refuge, an outstanding winged animal environment named for Iskanderkul, a turquoise lake framed by ice sheets.
