Thai Transport authorities approved the project on the extension of Airport Rail Link to the second Bangkok airport Don Muang.

It has already got railway station, but it is used by long-distance trains.

The very basic line of Airport Rail Link from the city to the main airport Suvarnabhumi has not yet been not opened - after numerous transfers its launch is now scheduled for August.

In addition, projects on the erection of two more surface metro lines Skytrain in Bangkok are approved, as well as several other rail lines in various parts of the city.

They must begin to work approximately 2020.

Earlier, airport line was planned to be launched only in the airport Suvarnabhumi. Nine trains will operate there.

The above-ground line of 28.6 kilometers in length will be served by two routes.

Airport Express trains will not stop at speeds up to 160 kilometers per hour to the city air terminal Makkasan, which is located near the metro station Phetchaburi.



This trip will take 15 minutes, the trains will go from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m., and the ticket price is estimated at 150 baht ($ 4).

Trains Airport City Line overcome the same distance with four stops (Lad Krabang, Thub Chang, Hua Mark, Ramkhamhaeng) for 27 minutes, then continue the path of the One Stop (Ratchaprarop) located closer to the city center station Phaya Thai, combined with the same name above-ground subway station, Skytrain.
