    Default Thai New Year

From April, 10 to April, 15 in Thailand once again Asian New Year - a noisy and colorful Songkran - will be celebrated.

It will be celebrated throughout the country, and travelers should be ready - nobody will be able to escape from it.

Celebration of Thai New Year, by definition, can not leave different any traveler - it is both solemn and merry, engaging the crowd. However, you should be ready: as real water battles are held these days.

The thing is that the word "Songkran" is translated as "pouring water" because it was originally an ancient ritual of begging for rain from the sky which symbolized the end of dry season.

The holiday lasts for several days. By noon of the first day double-barreled water pistols are used, and entire trucks with water, blocking the street. It is believed, the "wetter" you are - the more successful the next year will be.

All week, the Thais are doing good things, try to visit relatives, make pilgrimages to holy sites, participate in parades and performances.

Along the waterfront huge shopping arcade are located, where you can buy original souvenirs and taste the delights of Thai cuisine.

The Songkran festivity is rich with typical conventions. Mornings starts with legitimacy making. Going by nearby sanctuaries and offering sustenance to the Buddhist friars is ordinarily rehearsed. On this particular event, performing water pouring on Buddha statues is viewed as a notable custom for this occasion. It speaks to filtration and the washing endlessly one's wrongdoings and awful luck.I like to visit this time.
